Is your pup begging for an adventure? Then grab the leash and head over to Pixley Falls State Park for some fun in the sun. Your doggo will absolutely love sniffing around this beautiful wooded slice of nature and seeing everything this park has to offer.Â
When visiting this park,
seeing Pixley Falls is a must. The park's namesake can be reached via a short loop
called the Nature Trail. Let your dog be the guide as you walk through the delightful
forest. They can search for the perfect stick as they make their way to the
falls. A few bridges take you and your pup over some babbling brooks. You’ll
also see some small waterfalls along the way and will be surrounded by steep
wooded hills. Once you arrive at Pixley Falls, find a spot on the shore and let
your pal gaze at the pawsome 50 foot cascading waters.
The Black River Canal Trail is the park’s other hike.
This is actually just a segment of a much longer trail and only a mile of it
passes through Pixley Falls State Park. If your furry friend has a lot of
energy, follow this trail until they tucker out. What could be better than getting
some exercise in such a puptacular setting?
This park also features a softball field and picnic area.
So bring a lunch and stick around for the afternoon, just don’t forget to pack
a couple biscuits for your pup. You’ll also find drinking water and restrooms. Since
Pixley Falls State Park is designated as a day use area, it no longer has a
campground. If your doggo wants to sleep under the starts, camping is available
at Delta Lake State Park. Don’t forget to carry some clean up bags and pick up
after your pup. No bones about it, your dog will love Pixley Falls State Park!
