Pooch Park - Skokie Dog Park

The Pooch Park is a dog park in Skokie, Illinois. This Skokie Dog Park is located in the town's Channelside Park. Pet owners need to apply for membership from the Oakton Community Center in Skokie before using the facility. Applications can be made in person, online or by mail. 

Each application should be accompanied by the required paperwork and a Cook County animal rabies form completed by the pup's vet. Annual membership of the dog park carries a cost of $45 for the first dog and $10 per dog after that. 

Membership is valid from the date it is issued for a period of twelve months. Owners need to take good care of their membership card as they need to scan it at the dog park gate to gain access. This is a fantastic dog for all size and type of dog. 

The three different enclosures at the Skokie Pooch Park accommodate large dogs, small dogs, and overly energetic dogs who love to do agility training. Yes, there is a special section set aside which is complete with all the equipment for just that purpose. 

The off-leash areas are almost three acres in total but have been divided fairly and no dog, large or small, is short of space. They can all play safely, as the whole park has been fenced. The grass in all three is showing signs of wear and tear, but all the dogs are still happy to have it to frolic on. There are bushes and trees too for added doggy diversion. 

Skokie Park authorities believe in poo-free dog parks and with that end in mind, kindly provide poop bags for free. It is the pup owner's responsibility to use up that supply, and there is only one way of doing that. Yes, scooping puppy poop. All handlers need to jump in and help keep the Skokie Pooch Park a sanitary place for both dogs and humans.
