Pooch Pines Dog Park is a large, public dog park located in the Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition to the dog park, the 1,702-acre Palm Beach County park offers a variety of facilities including a 27-hole golf course, an equestrian center, baseball fields, tennis courts, a nature center, and much more. The Pooch Pines Dog Park can be found on a hill across from the nature center, surrounded by beautiful views and lush greenery.
The five-acre dog park is very well-maintained and has everything you would want in a dog park, which is why it is very popular among dog owners in the community. It has a well-thought-out layout that consists of two large dog sections, a small dog area (under 30lbs), and a paved dog wash enclosure. All areas are securely fenced and have a double-gated entry system that helps minimize the risk of canines slipping out when someone enters the park.Â
The dog park is also equipped with dog drinking fountains, dog waste bag dispensers, and plenty of conveniently located covered trash cans that help keep this park clean and odor-free. The park’s terrain is made up of trimmed grass, paved walking trails for owners, and tall, mature trees that provide a sufficient amount of shade. In addition to the above, the Pooch Pines Dog Park is located right by the parking lot and public restrooms. Finding a seat in the shade is never a problem either as the dog park is filled with shaded seating areas, gazebos, and benches.
Make sure to visit this stunning dog park during the working days as it can get crowded on the weekends and parking can be limited. If you live in the area and have an active dog biking to the park is a good alternative, especially since there is a bike rack by the dog park and plenty of paved biking trails. Just make sure to remember that the dog park is closed on Wednesdays between 12:00 and 3:00 PM for maintenance.
