Take advantage of some spare time in your day and head to the pawtastic Poquessing Valley Park in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This park has everything that will make your pup want to visit again and again. Located in the far northeast corner of the city, you will find plenty of on-site parking which makes your trip as easy as can be.
The park spans about 32 acres in a north-south direction, and offers many dog-friendly features. Your furever friend will definitely want to take a walk when they arrive. You have your choice between either the paved paths which meander throughout the park, or you can hop on the dedicated trail. The Poquessing Creek Trail offers you and Fido 1.5 miles of ground to cover through beautiful treed scenery, along the creek, and past a working horse farm. It is a generous 12-foot wide, and has no elevation gain, which makes it perfect for any sized and fitness-level pup. There are benches scattered throughout the park and along the trail, so take advantage of these and relax a bit. You can pick up this trail at the playground on site, and it will take you both all the way to the 500-acre Benjamin Rush State Park which lies to the northwest.
Sports fields are yet another amenity this park has to offer visitors. Restrooms and drinking fountains are conveniently located in the park, and you will only need to bring mutt mitts to keep this park puptastic! Keeping your furry friend on leash throughout your visit is a must.
