Reservoir State Park

Everybody knows that parks and dogs are a match made in heaven. So it’s no surprise that your doggo will love spending an afternoon in Reservoir State Park. Since this 132 acre green space is a favorite hangout spot for the locals, your furry friend will have plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and practice socializing.

If your doggo is into sports, Reservoir State Park is the place to be. Not only is it home to the largest softball complex in Niagara County, this park also has eight baseball diamonds, three tennis courts, and two basketball courts. Oh, and it also has a roller hockey court and a playground. You can stop by and watch a couple teams battle it out or play a little ball yourself. The multiuse field brings out the kite fliers, soccer players, and model airplane clubs.

Make sure your pup doesn’t spend the entire time on the sidelines. Treat them to a walk or run around the paved path. It clocks in at 1.2 miles and is the perfect spot for a little doggy cardio. For a nice cool down, let your pal sniff their way around the grassy field.  After your workout, stop by the lookout for the Robert Moses Power Plant Reservoir.

During the winter months, Reservoir State Park is a haven for different winter activities. Those who brave the cold temperatures stop by for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or sledding. If your pup loves the fluffy white stuff, head over for a frolic in the snow.  

Several garbage bins are placed throughout the park, so make sure to clean up any waste that your pup might leave on the ground. Restrooms are only available from mid-April to late October. Be sure to bring water. Above all else, have a great time hanging out with your pooch in this furrific park!
