With an eye to the needs of small, shy, and senior dogs who often benefit from a space all their own, one of the enclosures has been set aside for their use. Though the Ruff House Dog Park strongly supports off-leash exercise in their dog play areas, safety is always their foremost concern.Â
To ensure all dogs are secure during their play time, owners are required to keep them on a lead when entering and exiting the play spaces as well as to keep ready access to a leash in case of an emergency. Ruff House Dog Park proudly offers entrance to their lovely public dog playground at no cost.Â
The runs themselves are well-equipped with many amenities sure to enhance Fido's day at the dog park. There are benches situated throughout the runs to ensure owners have a quiet place to rest and enjoy watching their dogs having fun. Water is also available on the grounds to provide a place for Fido and his favorite canine pals to wet their whistles when the urge strikes.Â
Complimentary poop bags are provided for owners to use to clean up after their pets as is required by Virginia law. A double-gated entrance to the enclosures offers an extra layer of security against canine escape artists. Visitors to this park space do note that during wet weather, the play spaces can become quite muddy.Â
Ruff House Dog Park has instituted a few rules owners visiting this doggy play haven must observe. All dogs are to be current on their immunizations and have a city license. The park strictly prohibits the use of pinch, spike, or prong collars and smoking, alcohol, and food of any sort are not permitted in the runs.Â
