Description
The Sam Parr State Park is filled with history, adventure, and social interaction for all types of visitors that come to the area of Illinois. This state park was acquired around the year of 1960, and it was dedicated as an official state park in 1972, which was eight years after Sam Parr passed away. Sam Parr was a long time resident and conservationist on the land and area of this region.

When you come and visit the Sam Parr State Park, you will find many different types of amenities that are available for your satisfaction. There are picnic tables, picnic shelters, campgrounds, hiking trails, and availability for boating, hunting, picnicking, and so much more. Rentals are also available at Sam Parr State Park for boating and hunting.

Dogs can come with you to this park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay. During your time in this park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the state park. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home.

All dogs and their humans must be well-mannered before they come to Sam Parr State Park as this park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. Pet parents should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in Sam Parr State Park.

If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation. Reservations can be made on the Sam Parr State Park's main website or in the park's main office. Overall, the Sam Parr State Park is a favorite spot for many. Whether you want to boat, camp, or even hunt, this park will provide you with a day full of fun adventures that you will never forget.
