Though the play space is a designated off-leash zone, owners are asked to retain a lead with them at all times in case of an emergency. Dogs are also required to remain on lead in all other areas of the park and when traveling to and from the enclosure.
Access to this public space is free of charge. Visitors to the doggy play haven lament that the park grounds themselves become very muddy during inclement weather. For this reason, it is advisable to bring towels to clean and dry your dog if attending the park on a rainy day. Water is provided on-site to help address Fido's hydration needs. Bathrooms are located 1/2 mile from the park and are available for public use.Â
San Luis Mission Park is also home to many nature trails. Fido and his family are welcome to explore these natural paths at their leisure. In accordance with park regulations, Fido must remain on a leash during hikes on the park trails. It is unknown if complimentary poop bags are available on-site. However, dog owners are required to carry bags with them to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste in a prompt fashion.
Though no specific rules govern the use of this public dog play space, it is highly recommended that all dogs be current on vaccinations and bear the appropriate required state license tags on their collars.
