Schenectady Dog Run

Treat your best friend to some off-leash time at the Schenectady Dog Run! Nestled within Central Park, this dog park used to be the site of tennis courts before it was transformed into a safe environment where Schenectady's four-legged residents and visitors can play, exercise, and socialize without the constraints of a leash.

Located across the park's pawpular rose garden, the Schenectady Dog Run is a great spot to let your canine companion stretch their legs after a long day of being cooped up indoors. Though minimally furnished, it provides ample room for zoomies and games of fetch. It is unknown whether drinking water and mutt mitts are provided, so be sure to bring your own! Benches are available for you and your fellow dog parents to sit on while watching your furry charges.

Make sure your pup is properly licensed and inoculated before you bring them to the dog park. Once you're there, see to it that they have their ID tag on at all times. If you have more than two canine companions, have another family member accompany you as there is a limit of two dogs per adult.

If running around the dog park still hasn't burned off all of Fido's energy, take a leashed stroll on the trails that meander around Central Park. Enjoy the leafy scenery of this urban green space, stop by the duck pond and say hello to the waterfowl, and don't forget to check out the rose garden that contains over 300 varieties. Make sure your pooch doesn't trample on the flower beds or wade into the ponds and fountains. Always keep them on a leash in all other areas of Central Park and clean up any mess they might make wherever you go.
