Description
Sebastian Inlet State Park is a haven for people and their pooches in Melbourne Beach, Florida. This much-loved vacation spot has earned the distinction of being the highest rated saltwater fishing locale in the eastern portion of Florida. Its waters are ripe with snook, Spanish mackerel, redfish, and bluefish--a true fisherman's dream! Sebastian Inlet State Park's three miles of beach area make it the ideal place for water sports including snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming.

This beautifully maintained park also houses a campground where both campsites and cabins are available for rental. Dogs are allowed to join their owners on hiking trails and in the camping sections; however, they must remain on a lead of no greater than six feet in length. Florida state law strictly forbids dogs from entering any public beaches, buildings, or playgrounds.

Sebastian Inlet State Park, a public facility, offers entrance to its grounds at no cost. However, reserving a campsite or cabin is fee-based. Though dogs are permitted to join their owners in various areas of this lovely recreational space, there are no on-site amenities provided for them. With this in mind, owners should bring water and a dog dish with them to ensure that their dog has access to a drink when needed.

Since it is the responsibility of all owners to clean up after their pets, it is also wise to pack a few extra poop bags to assist with this task. Bathrooms are available on the premises. Sebastian Inlet State Park is an outdoor adventure wonderland! Among the great activities families can choose from are canoeing and kayaking at the Indian River Lagoon, picnicking in one of the pavilions by the water, surfing, or observing the many species of wildlife in their natural habitat.

The property is also home to two museums, the McLarty Treasure Museum and the Sebastian Fishing Museum. Dogs visiting Sebastian Inlet State Park must be current on all immunizations. Florida state law also mandates that all dogs must be in possession of a city dog license. Looking for a great new Florida getaway? Plan a visit to Sebastian Inlet State Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
