Currently, there is not a separate play space for use by shy, elderly, and small dogs; however, furbuddies of all sizes are welcome to enjoy a vigorous run or bout of play in the on-premise enclosure. Though off-leash activity is promoted at this park, safety is of paramount importance. Keeping this in mind, it is important for all owners to have easy access to lead at all times.Â
In addition to this, all dogs must remain leashed when visiting any area that is not a designated off-leash zone. See Spot Run Dog Park is a private dog playground; however, access is granted to all New York state residents with the purchase of a yearly permit. Residents of LaGrange may obtain a park pass for $25 with passes costing $50 for those residing in Beekman, Unionvale, Pouquag, or the Town of Poughkeepsie.Â
Memberships are valid for one full year. When you register, members will be provided with an identification tag which must be prominently displayed on your dog's collar. The dog run property houses a pavilion which contains two picnic tables. Here, owners can find shelter from the heat of the day or any inclement weather. There are no on-site amenities at See Spot Run Dog Park.Â
Owners must bring everything they may need for a day at the dog park with them including bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags. Also, owners are required by law to clean up after their pets. See Spot Run Dog Park has very few rules in place for those who visit this pristine dog play haven. Pit Bulls and Pit Bull type dogs are strictly forbidden from the grounds.Â
Additionally, it is recommended that all dogs be properly vaccinated and have a current city dog license. Some reviews mention that this park was closed in 2015 but it is unknown if this is true, so you may want to check that out before you go. For a great day at a lovely New York park, plan a visit to See Spot Run Dog Park!Â
