This dog run is a favorite haunt for locals residing in the area with many amenities to its credit. The run itself is fully fenced making it suitable for off-leash play. Though it is a designated off-leash area, owners are required to carry a lead with them at all times in case of an emergency. Also on the premises are several pools, artificial hilly terrain, and a small playground intended for use by toddlers. There is also ample seating where owners can relax and enjoy watching their dogs at play.Â
Unfortunately, there are no bathroom facilities for public use near to the dog run or on the premises. However, water is provided on-site to help keep Fido cool, clean, and well-hydrated. It is unknown if poop bags are provided on-site. However, it is required by law that all owners carry bags with them to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste.
Though no official rules govern the use of this particular park space, New York City by-laws require all dogs to be current on vaccinations including rabies. An up to date city dog license is also mandatory. Proof of inoculations and licensing must be produced upon request, and failure to furnish the documentation is punishable by a fine.Â
Access to this public play space is free of charge. The run's location atop the Kowksy Plaza affords visitors breathtaking views of the Hudson River and metropolitan New York City, an added benefit. For a relaxing day at a park with an incredible view, bring Fido and the family for a visit to Sirius Dog Park Run!
