The Smith Mountain Lake State Park is on the north shore of Smith Mountain Lake, which is situated in Bedford County. The park sits on almost 1,500 acres and provides every type of visitor with exactly what they may need for an action-packed day full of fun. 

At the Smith Mountain Lake State Park, you will find many different amenities for your enjoyment. You can go boating, swim, fish, picnic, and camp. Dogs are allowed at this park as well, but they have to be on-leash, and they must remain by their owner's side during their time here. When you come to this park, you have to follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Virginia area. 

All dogs must first be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can come to Smith Mountain Lake State Park. All female pups in heat and young puppies under four months old need to stay back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to this park as Smith Mountain Lake State Park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior.
