The Frank Boone Dog Park is part of the Swift Cantrell Park in the town of Kennesaw, Georgia. Vehicle parking is available in the lot of the main park. This dog park is spacious and covers a total area of just under one and a half acres. It has been designated by the Kennesaw local authorities as an off-leash area especially for the exercising of dogs.
It is a well-maintained dog park which has been fully enclosed with head high chain link fencing. There is a separate section for small dogs which weigh under thirty pounds. This does not include puppies which need to be six months of age before using the facility. The Frank Boone Dog Park has a large, double gated staging area for the safe leashing and unleashing of dogs.
This off-leash area is a long stretch of ground with plenty of space for dogs to run and is surfaced with grass as well as patches of sandy dirt. There are a few trees inside the boundary fence of the dog park, but they don't afford much shade on sunny days. The dog park has been furnished with several benches for pet owners to sit on.
There are a water fountain and a spigot with a hose attachment for washing down dogs. Poop bags are supplied on-site from several different dispensers throughout the installation. All pet owners taking a dog inside the off-leash area must be aged eighteen years and older. Children under the age of twelve must be accompanied by an adult. No running or yelling is allowed inside the dog park.
In addition, no handler can exercise more than three dogs at a time. It is not permitted to take any food or drink, including dog treats, into the off-leash area. Pet owners must be fully responsible in helping to maintain the dog park by collecting all faecal matter produced by their dogs and deposit all used poop bags in the containers provided for that purpose.
