Tavares Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Aesop’s Park. In addition to the dog park, the 11.5 acre Aesop’s Park features tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, nature trails and a vegetable garden. Plus, there is a large parking lot at the park that is free, as well as public restrooms.
The dog park is open to all dog breeds and sizes and has a well-thought-out, open space layout made up of two separate sections for dogs to run around and socialize in without a leash. There is a small dog area for breeds under 25 pounds and a large dog run for those above.
Both sections of the Tavares Dog Park offer a decent amount of space for dogs to stretch their legs and play with their canine buddies in a safe, securely fenced and gated environment. The dog park features a digging area where dogs are free to dig to their hearts' content.
Playtime can get muddy, but owners will be happy to find a washing station where they can hose off their pooches to prevent a messy car on their way back home. There are toys scattered around the off-leash areas so make sure to supervise your canine companion if he's a chewer to prevent accidental choking.
This well-maintained dog park is equipped with both human and doggie drinking fountains that help make sure the park's patrons remain hydrated throughout their time at the park. There are several seating options, such as benches, for owners to relax on, as well as some shade cast from the mature trees growing nearby.
Tavares Dog Park is the ideal spot for a sunny afternoon of playing fetch with your furry buddy or socialization. However, if your dog prefers sniffing around and exploring, feel free to take him on a leashed walk on the nature trail that runs through the park and enjoy the scenic pond that it loops around.
