Treat your pooch to an afternoon at Sheep Pasture. This 154 piece of pawperty is not well known to passersby, but the locals go mutts over it. A walk through this bucolic slice of heaven will lift your pup’s spirit and put a little pep in their step.
Sheep Pasture is a working farm that doubles as a
recreational facility. On any given day, you will see visitors walking through
the woofderful fields and getting a taste of farm life. Housed on the grounds
are a variety of farm animals including cows, sheep, chickens, horses, goats,
and geese. The property is also home to streams, ponds, and community gardens
for families to enjoy. Owners must take
care that their furbabies do not disturb the farm animals that make Sheep
Pasture their home.
Your pupster will be glad to know that Sheep Pasture
has furrific trails to explore. Follow the natural pathways through serene
meadows and thick forests. Look for posted signs that have infurmation about
the area. One of the trails has a bridge that leads over a lovely pond. You
simply can’t go wrong when walking around the grounds!
If your doggo is quiet you can watch for birds and
wildlife. There are several tables for picnics, or you can bring a blanket and
find a nice patch of grass to relax on. Frisbees, kites, and balls are all
welcome. Or cozy up with a book while your pup watches the animals. Bathrooms
are housed on the premises for use by the public, but drinking water must be
brought from home. Don’t forget to also carry a few clean-up bags so you can
pick up after your pooch.
