The Yards Park Dog Run

If a day by the river sounds like a slice of paradise, you won't want to miss out on a trip to The Yards Park Dog Run! Housed within a pawblic park known simply as "Yards Park," this pawsitively awesome recreational area rests directly on the waterfront, offering pawrific views of the Anacostia River. Yards Park and its dog run comprise the focal point of what is known as the Capitol Riverfront. You will find it is quite easy to locate as the park is nestled to the south of Capitol Hill and the eastern side of the Nationals Ball Park. 

To the east of the "Great Lawn" region of the park, you will discover the fenced designated off-leash zone. A small area, this doggy play haven is lined with sand, a surface that is furrifically kind to canine joints. Be sure to bring along drinking water and cleanup bags as none are provided. Benches are housed in areas with lots of wooftastic shade. Here, you can kick back and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while Fido has a blast with his canine pals. 

However, the fun doesn't stop when you leave The Yards Park Dog Run! Fido is warmly welcomed to join you in Yards Park on leash. Among the most pawpular park features are large grass sections, several water features including waterfalls, an overlook, a bridge, and a stage. The landscaping is so puptastic, you'll feel you've stepped into the Garden of Eden! Fido may enjoy looking at the water features, but he is not permitted to play in them.
