Thomas Bull Memorial Dog Park is a public dog park located in the Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery, New York. It was opened in the fall of 2007 and has since become a very popular, highly-rated dog park in the area for several reasons. It consists of a fenced-in, off-leash area that is 1.5-acres in size for dogs to freely roam around in and has all the facilities you would want in a dog park.
The dog park’s layout is very well-thought out. There are two spacious areas which accommodate both smaller dogs (30 lbs or less) as well as all dog breeds in the second enclosure. There are plenty of benches in both areas, most of which are canopy covered for shade. Drinking fountains, trash cans, and dog waste bag dispensers are also conveniently located throughout the off-leash areas, as well as the park itself, thus allowing for hassle-free, on-leash strolls throughout the entire park.
In addition to the above, the park is always clean as the patrons make sure to tidy up after their four-legged friends. The dog park’s surface consists of grass, which is well-maintained by the park. Thanks to the tall, mature trees growing throughout the park finding a shaded area is never a problem. The landscape of the dog park consists of open areas and some slight slopes for dogs to explore and enjoy. Restrooms are located by the picnic areas, the boathouse, as well as the Parks and Recreation Center.
The park does get crowded on the weekends but even then there is plenty of parking space that is free. This picturesque park is definitely worth a visit, especially on a sunny day. Start by having a picnic and then take a scenic walk with your leashed buddy by the beautiful lake and end your trip in the amenity-laden dog park.
