The Trails and Tails Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in Doral, Florida. The dog park is a section of the eight-acre Trails and Tails Park which is the first dog-friendly park in the city. Pet parents can walk with their dog on a leash through the main park as well as being able to enjoy the off-leash facility. The park also offers a children's playground and jogging trails plus a cycleway.
This dog park in Doral is pretty state of the art as far as dog parks go. The small breed section is grassed and has gravel pathways running around the border. There is a rockery-style garden installation which has been planted with shrubbery and trees. The large dog run is a vast grass field which has been surrounded with metal railings. It has gravel islands, boulders, and trees.
All sizes of dogs are going to have a great time here. The park is super clean and receives periodical spray treatment to prevent fleas. The spraying is done on a rota system which means one part of the park may be closed while the other is put to combined use. The park is furnished with benches for pet owners, poop bag dispensers and water fountains.
There is a three dog per handler limit, and all dogs are expected to have completed a full cycle of vaccinations so sadly puppies younger than four months aren't eligible to use even the small dog off-leash area. There is no smoking allowed inside the park.
That doesn't mean pet parents can sneak out of the dog park for a quick puff and leave their dog unattended. They can't. A dog must be accompanied at all times. This is a very modern dog park, but sadly pup poop isn't picked up automatically. It's still a manual jog that each pup owner needs to do.
