Tybee Island Dog Park (near Jaycee Park)

The Tybee Island Dog Park near Jaycee Park is separated into two locations. The designated dog area located on Fort Street is for smaller dogs, and the larger dog area is accessible on Van Horn. This beautiful dog park is an excellent alternative to the nearby beaches. 

Dogs are not allowed at any of the beaches in the area, so this lovely dog park is the only place to let your dog run free and socialize with other dogs in a safe environment. There are trees in both areas that provide shade on hot days. The parks also have benches, and the ground is covered with mulch. There are a variety of mandatory park rules that pet parents must adhere to when visiting the park. 

All dogs visiting the Tybee Island Dog Park must have their vaccinations and license displayed on tags located on their collar. Also, pet parents need to clean up pet waste immediately to help prevent the spread of canine illness. Bring along doggie waste bags and throw it away in the available trash cans located near the dog park. 

There is plenty of space for dogs to run around and play here at the Tybee Island Dog Park. You can play a good game of fetch just as long as you bring along a ball or toy. Leave your dog’s favorite toys at home to avoid aggression if other dogs play along in the game of fetch. Aggressive dogs need to be removed from the dog park immediately. 

The two park locations require pet parents to keep their dogs on a leash until entering the dog park area and shutting the gate. You are also expected to put a leash on your dog before leaving the designated area. Overall, the Tybee Island Dog Park is large, has plenty of room to play fetch and keep your dog entertained. Plus, it has benches for pet parents to relax while they watch their dog.
