Though many dog parks do now offer a separate space to accommodate the needs of small, shy, or senior dogs, there is currently no such spot at the Urban Reserve Off-Leash Dog Park. However, all dogs are invited to join the fun in the one on-premise enclosure. Owners are asked to provide active supervision to ensure the safety of all dogs in the run. Additionally, dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the playground as well as in all other public places.
The Urban Reserve Off-Leash Dog Park is a public dog play haven. To encourage as many people and their dogs to make use of the playground, entrance to the property is offered free of charge. The dog run offers stunning views of Lake Champlain which can be accessed via a walkway and set of newly-installed steps. Dogs are permitted to enjoy the crisp waters with their families.
There are no on-site amenities at the Urban Reserve Off-Leash Dog Park, and as such, owners must bring from home all of the things needed for a trip to the dog park including water, a dog dish, and poop bags. As a display of responsible pet ownership, all owners must clean up after their pets. Benches are provided on the grounds for families to enjoy; however, there is no shade at this facility. There are also no bathrooms housed on the grounds for public use, and there is no parking provided near to the dog park.
Formerly part of Vermont's waterfront district, this beloved play haven was once part of the city's bustling industrial core. Today, the dog park forms part of the larger family-centric recreational area which offers families the opportunity to enjoy the property's stunning gardens and many on-site attractions including breathtaking views of the Adirondack Mountains, bike paths, the Green Mountain Express Dinner Train, ferry rides, and playgrounds.
There are also many walking paths where Fido is welcome to join his family for an on-lead stroll. This idyllic park space has implemented no specific rules for visitors to their dog playground. However, up to date vaccinations are recommended, and a city dog license is advised. For a relaxing afternoon in a stunning park space, bring Fido and the family to visit the Urban Reserve Off-Leash Dog Park!
