Valley Stream Dog Park (at Village Green Park)

Valley Stream Dog Park is a private dog park located at the Village Green Park in Valley Stream, New York. In addition to the dog park, the beautiful Village Green Park is home to several playgrounds and picnic areas. This park, which opened in May 2012 can be accessed by Valley Stream residents with an annual membership for $18, while residents of the Central High School District #1 have to pay $55 and Town of Hempstead residents have to pay $110. 

This off-leash dog park is approximately half-an-acre in size and offers a safe environment for dogs to play and socialize. It is securely fenced with tall fenced and has a double-gated entry system that helps prevent dogs from slipping out as other patrons enter the park. It has a well-thought-out layout that includes two separate sections for dogs to enjoy with their canine friends and without a leash. 

There is a small dog run for dogs under 30 pounds and a large dog area for those above that weight limit. It is quite a popular location for dog owners in the area due to its convenient location, accessibility, and interesting design. The dog park has an artsy feel to it with a bright, multi-colored turf and large paintings of dogs hanging throughout the park’s perimeter. 

The synthetic turf is soft on your dogs’ paws and allows for clean playtime, with owners not having to worry about sand or dirt getting brought back to the house. There are benches and picnic tables for owners, some of which are covered and provide shelter from both sun and rain. 

The Valley Stream Dog Park is also equipped with agility obstacles that dogs can train on, and that also keeps the terrain interesting. To make sure canines stay hydrated, the park offers water fountains. The dog park is conveniently located by a parking lot, making it easily accessible which is another reason to come by for a visit!
