Fido may join his family on the premises, but he must remain on a lead at all times. Bathrooms are housed on the grounds for public use. Here, owners may obtain drinking water to help keep their dogs well-hydrated during their day of fun at the park. There is not a designated dog play section at Washington County Conservation Area.

Poop bags are not supplied. All canine waste removal is the responsibility of each owner, and to assist them with this task, families should carry bags with them at all times. Washington County Conservation Area is a public facility and campground. There is no fee to enter the premises.

Campsites are available by reservation only, and an accompanying fee is required though it is not known what it is at this time. This beloved recreational space offers 13 miles of pristine waterfront property where families can enjoy a leisurely stroll or hike. Other on-site activities include the viewing of wildlife in its natural habitat, camping, boating, archery, fishing, hiking, hunting, picnicking, and metal detecting.

Visitors to this picturesque park praise its remote location and serene setting which promotes well-being, relaxation and reconnecting with nature. Washington County Conservation Area strictly enforces all Illinois dog by-laws. With this in mind, owners must take care to ensure their dogs are current on all pertinent inoculations.

In addition to this, Illinois state law requires all dogs visiting public areas to bear an up to date city dog license tag on their collars. If you are looking for a new dog-friendly park to explore, this Washington County Conservation Area just might fit the bill!
