Description
The Weldon Springs State Park is open to visitors in the Illinois area during all seasons, and it is filled with endless opportunities for adventure. This state park covers 550 acres, and it is known for its large amount of recreational activities that are available. The Weldon Springs State Park may be one of the most diverse within the Illinois State Park System.

When you come and visit the Weldon Springs State Park, you will find many different amenities that are available for your enjoyment. There are campgrounds, tent sites, a visitor center, a lake, showers, grills, picnic tables, picnic shelters, restrooms, a playground, hiking trails, fire rings, an interpretive area, and so much more.

There is also open availability for fishing, hiking, biking, boating, geocaching, metal detecting, wildlife viewing, nature viewing, and cross-country skiing. Your dog can also come with you to the Weldon Springs State Park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay.

During your time at Weldon Springs State Park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Illinois State Park System. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home.

Dogs and their humans must be well-mannered before they come to the Weldon Springs State Park as this park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in this park.

If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation. Reservations can be made on the Weldon Springs State Park's main website or in the park's main office. Overall, the Weldon Springs State Park is a great place to visit on any day of the week. If you have the opportunity to come here, you will have a fabulous time.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
