Wellington Dog Park

Wellington Dog Park is a members-only dog park. Access requires a license given by the city. To get this pass, you must provide the application, proof of vaccination, waiver of liability and a small fee before you are allowed access. Also, this is a co-mingled dog park. There are no separate sections for small breeds, toy dogs or puppies. This could put those smaller dogs at a higher risk of injury as they play in the same space and with canines many times their size. Wellington Dog Park, housed within the Wellington Community Park, is a massive wide-open field for your canine to socialize and run around. 

Best described as an exercise area; there is a ton of space here. The Wellington Dog Park is fenced to keep in canines that like to run off. That being said, the fence is not large and some of the more athletic canines will be able to leap over it if they decide they want to. 

Wellington Dog Park is perfect for those canines, however, as the amount of space they have to run and play can guarantee they will leave worn out. There's plenty of space here for games like fetch or frisbee. There are a couple of downsides to Wellington Dog Park as well. 

Although the space is quite large, there are no trees inside the fenced area and very few along the fence line. There are no structures built to sit overhead, and therefore at this park, there is very little shade. You are subjected to the full force of the sun on a hot day. 

Water is available at the Wellington Dog Park in the form of a hose at the entrance to the dog park so you and your canine can stay hydrated, but remember to bring your bowl! Wellington Dog Park is perfect for a high energy canine that is looking for a lot of room to run.
