Since small dogs often benefit from a gentler style of play, one of the two fenced areas is reserved specifically for their use. This particular enclosure would also be well-suited to dogs who are shy or elderly. Though West Dog Park encourages off-leash play in all of their runs, park officials do request that all owners keep a leash on hand as a safety precaution.Â
Access to West Dog Park is available to the public free of charge. This idyllic play haven is equipped with all of the amenities dogs and their owners could need for the ideal day of fun at the park. Installed in the dog runs are bathtubs where dogs can take a cool dip and clean up after a day of play at the park.Â
Water is also available via a hose though visitors do suggest that all owners bring a dog dish with them for their dog's hydration needs. Also on the premises is what is described as a "hitching post" and plentiful poop bags. Owners are asked to make use of the complimentary poop bags to clean up after their pets.Â
Picnic areas and sun shelters are littered throughout the grounds to provide a quiet, shaded area where owners can enjoy a snack and view their dogs having fun. Nearby West Park also offers playground equipment for children to enjoy as well as several baseball diamonds.Â
West Dog Park has instituted several rules for dogs attending the play spaces. All dogs must have received a current rabies shot and be licensed with their respect township. Proof of both must be evidenced via tags on your dog's flat buckle collar. Prong and choke collars are strictly prohibited at this public park space.Â
Also not permitted on the grounds are alcohol, cigarettes, food, or glass containers. West Dog Park also observes a no tolerance policy for nuisance barking and mounting of other dogs. Dogs engaging in these behaviors will be asked to vacate the premises. Looking for a great new park to explore? Bring Fido to West Dog Park!Â
