Regardless of breed or size, all dogs are welcome to join in the off-leash fun on the playground. As with most dog parks that share the property with recreational family parks, dogs are to be leashed when not in the designated off-leash zones. This doggy play haven takes a bare-bones approach to amenities. There is no water available on the premises or any shelter though visitors do note the park is well-shaded. Though it is not known if poop bags are provided, it is unlikely. With these things in mind, wise owners will come prepared with bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags.Â
The onus for all dog cleanup rests with owners. It is also unknown if a bathroom is available for public use at nearby Westland Hills Park. The family-friendly Westland Hills Park offers many recreational opportunities. Among the on-site activities are tennis and baseball. There is also a wading pool and a playground. Westland Hills Dog Park does require all dogs visiting the play areas to have up to date vaccinations.Â
It is also important to note that New York state law requires all dogs to possess a city dog license. Proof of both a rabies certificate and a city dog license must be carried at all times and furnished to any Animal Control officer upon request. Failure to do so results in a fine.
