Willowbrook Park

One of the most pawpular greenbelts on Staten Island, Willowbrook Park is a magical place that welcomes all. This park features a lake in a forest, an off-leash dog area, and some other unique attractions that make it stand out from the rest. You're sure to be charmed by the Carousel for All Children, a handicap accessible merry-go-round with hand carved wooden animals. Willowbrook Park is a woofderful way to spend the day with your family, fur-babies included. 

This peaceful setting will get you and your doggo off the concrete of NYC, and make you forget you're anywhere near the skyscrapers. The park features an archery range, that is used as an off-leash dog area from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. everyday. Here your pal can enjoy some glorious off-leash freedom, make some furry friends, and play fetch with their person. Please be sure you pup stays leashed while not within the off-leash area during the designated times. 

If your pooch is not one to be fenced in, there are plenty of other areas to explore! The five-acre lake in this park is home to a wide variety of birds and other wildlife, so bring along some binoculars! For a closer look, hop in a canoe to enjoy the glassy waters. Your pooch will love to scamper through the forest alongside you by means of the many trails. The Willowbrook Park White Trail is a 7.6 miles easy to moderate trail, with scenic bridges and tall trees. There are also paved pathways that are welcome people and pups of all fitness levels. 

Truly a park for everyone, some of the other amenities in this park include playgrounds, athletic fields, and barbecue areas. Doggos are welcome with both paws, but please be sure that they are respectful to everyone, and that you follow the leash rules and pick up after your pal.
