The Windsor Hills Apartments are pet-friendly, student accommodation in the city of Blacksburg, Virginia. For folks planning on studying at the Virginia Tech who can't bear to be parted from their fur baby, this is the perfect place to stay. Not only do they welcome up to three pets in each apartment, but there's also a dog park for pooches where they can get some off-leash time.Â
There's nothing better than doing late night revision of coursework when there's a furry body by your side keeping you company. Being able to have your pet with you makes it feel like home. The Windsor Hill Apartments dog park is just one of the complex's amenities and is for residents only.Â
Residents also get exclusive use of the swimming pool which has a fabulous sundeck, a well-equipped fitness center, and laundry facility. What's great about it too, even if you don't drive, it's only a mile from the campus so you can get back quick after class to take your pooch to the dog park.Â
The dog park at the Windsor Apartments is a decently-sized corner of the complex's garden which has been conditioned to serve as an off-leash area for exercising pups. The apartments do allow cats to stay too, but for obvious reasons, they're not allowed in the dog park.Â
The off-leash enclosure has been secured with eight-foot-high chain-link fencing and is bordered by trees. It has a dirt and wood chip surface, so if it has been raining heavily, expect some muddy paws to clean before taking the elevator back to your apartment.Â
On weekends, if the dog park becomes too restrictive or overcrowded, there's some great walks in the local countryside hills where you can take them to stretch their legs and yours. Pup does need to be kept on a leash though as they do anywhere on the apartment grounds other than in the dog park.
