Though Winona Dog Park is pleased to present a designated off-leash section, it is important for visitors to note that this area is completely unfenced. 

For dogs who do not possess an extremely solid recall, it is best to keep them leashed. All dogs must remain on a lead when enjoying all other areas outside of the designated off-leash zones. Though all dogs are welcome to enjoy the provided exercise area, there is not a section reserved specifically for use by small, senior, or shy dogs. 

The management team of Winona Dog Park proudly open their facility to the public at no cost. The park is renowned for its pristine, untouched natural beauty. The off-leash exercise area meanders along a picturesque creek and is shaded by trees. It is not known if seating, water, bathrooms, or poop bags are available on site. 

For this reason, owners will need to pack a basic dog park necessities kit and include such items as poop bags, bottled water, and a dog dish. A lawn chair is also an excellent idea for those planning to picnic on the grounds or relax while their dogs enjoy some play time. Though there are few rules posted regarding the use of Winona Dog Park, Norfolk city by-laws do require that all dogs visiting off-leash areas be current on their rabies vaccinations and licensed with their respective city.
