Cameron Park Trails

Covering over 416-acres, Cameron Park is the place where residents of Waco return to nature. Located on the banks of the Brazos River, you'll find sports fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, a disc golf course, and 20 miles of recreation trails! The Cameron Park Trail System is one of the most extensive trail networks in Texas, and offers something for everyone, including dog walkers!

Your leashed dog is welcome throughout Cameron Park and on any designated trails. Whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced trails, you're sure to find something to fit your fitness levels. During your hike, you can enjoy incredible views from 100-foot bluffs that overlook the Brazos and Bosque Rivers, stop for an outdoor snack or meal, or even to cast a line and try your luck at catching dinner.

If you'd like to take a gentle stroll on a concrete path, you and your pet can walk along the Waco Riverwalk. This lighted path connects Cameron Park with downtown Waco and runs along the Brazos River. Or take a hike along the River Trail, a 3.3-mile gravel trail with an even surface. For a more extended adventure, take the 5.8-mile loop spanning the River, Highlander, Half Bopp, Bat Cave, Drain Pipe, Acts of Faith, Sidewinder, and California 56 trails. This path is rated as moderate, and it takes most hikers more than two hours to complete.

With several restrooms that feature water access, you can plan your route to refill water bottles and get in a pit stop for the humans. Always have clean-up bags on hand, though, to pick up after your pup wherever you trek.
