Description

The Heritage Trail in Pflugerville is part of the National Recreation Trail Database. This pawesome walkway is in an urban setting and connects four area parks. In a few spots, you'll need to cross roadways to continue on the path. There are several offshoots from the main 3.1-mile loop. When you and Fido stroll on the pathway, you'll pass by some historical sites and buildings.

A great place to start your hike is at Heritage Park. In this facility, you'll be able to walk by the Heritage House Museum. You can come back without your pup to tour the buildings here. They're open on the first Sunday of the month. The ten-foot wide trail heads south to Bohls Park and has trees and grass along its borders.

The Bohls Park section offers more wooded land and a stream that the path follows to the west for a while. Footbridges cross the water here. You can take a break at one of the benches or picnic tables in this facility. Take time to find the interpretive plaque marking the site of the bottling works site. After leaving Bohls Park, you'll enter a greenbelt that turns north. The final leg of the loop cuts through a residential neighborhood.

Remember to respect other people using the trail. The city requires your four-footed pal remain secure on a lead when they're with you on public property. Immediately remove any droppings. There are a few waste bag dispensaries along the pathway, but you'll need to bring water with you for your outing.

Heritage Trail offers you a snifftastic way to get some exercise with your canine companion. You'll pass through a variety of settings and have the opportunity to see pieces of this area's history. For the beginning hiker or the person looking for a relaxing stroll, this walkway offers a pawesome way to get outdoors with your furry pal.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
