Description

Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail, located in Santa Rosa, California, is a beautiful, short trail that's perfect for all hikers! The trail is both relatively flat and clearly marked, so it's great for either a casual stroll with your furry friend or a brisk hike with your athletic pooch. The trail is nearly two miles long.

Parking for the trail is free and plentiful, so you don't need to worry too much about finding a spot nearby. This trail is also known for being accessible for those with disabilities, and this carries over to the parking lots.

In the warmer months, the trail provides beautiful views of nearby vineyards and grasslands. During the winter, when there's a lot of rain, it's not uncommon for parts of the trail to flood! If you're traveling for the hike, it might be a good idea to call the ranger's station ahead of time to ask for any status updates.

Fido is allowed to explore the trail with you, but there are a couple of catches. Of course, your playful pup must be on their leash at all times, and the leash should be no longer than six feet. You'll also want to print out a trail map or pick up one from the ranger's station, as your dog isn't allowed in all sections of the trail. For example, dogs aren't allowed in what's known as the "pedestrian-only" portion of the hike. Don't fret too much, though, as you can easily plan to avoid this part of the trail. Preparation is key!

Please remember to bring along waste disposal bags for quick and easy clean-up of any messes that your dog tries to leave behind. Being able to bring your canine companion along is a privilege that no one wants to lose, and cleaning up after your dog is the best way to show your appreciation!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
