Laguna Lake Trails

San Luis Obispo – here we come! You and your fur-ever friend can head out for a great day’s hike together in California on the Laguna Lake Trails here. There are two separate and different trails offered, so you will never be bored with the same hike.

Pick up the trailhead for the Laguna Lake Loop Trail or the Laguna Lake Loop Trail to Cerro San Luis Obispo at Laguna Lake Park. Head to the far northern section of the park to start your pup-tastic adventure. The Laguna Lake Loop Trail is the easiest of the two and clocks in at about 1.4 miles long. The Laguna Lake Loop Trail to Cerro San Luis Obispo is 4.9 miles in length and is rated as moderate. Either one will offer you a great adventure with your fur-ever friend, and are part of the Laguna Lake Open Spaces 375 acres.

The Laguna Lake Loop Trail features spectacular views of the lake along the entire journey and a trip through the eucalyptus grove at the end of your hike. The path is all-natural footing which is easy on Fido’s paws. The Laguna Lake Loop Trail to Cerro San Luis Obispo has similar features, but is more open and offers less shade. Wide vistas with rock outcroppings greet you throughout your hike, with natural brush and prairie grasses on either side of this trail. Fishing is allowed in the lake, so take advantage of that amenity if you would like.

You will find many pups off leash here as the park itself does not require them to be leashed anywhere. It is entirely an off-leash park, so plan accordingly if you have less-than-friendly pups or those skittish of others. The park also offers picnic tables, disc golf and a playground. You will find restrooms and drinking fountains as well.
