West Bradenton
Western Bradenton, Florida is less than eight miles from Holmes Beach, and this is where you'll find the Happy Tails Dog Park at G.T. Bray Park. This fenced-in dog park has big and small dog sections, as well as paw-lenty of other amenities you and your dog will love. There are benches, waste disposal supplies, lots of space, and several shady areas. There are water hoses to wash your dog off or to give them a drink of water, and there are also plastic pools set up where dogs can cool off. Happy Tails is a three-acre dog park, and it's open daily from dawn to dusk.36

Glen Oaks
The 17th St. Paw Park is just over 20 miles southeast of Holmes Beach on the eastern edge of Sarasota. This spacious off-leash park has big and small dog sections, and visitors say it's frequented by lots of friendly regulars. 17th St. Paw Park provides visitors with drinking water for dogs, as well as waste disposal supplies. To help battle the Florida heat, there are lots of shaded areas in the park and benches to rest on. You'll also find some agility equipment in the park, as well as tennis balls to chase, and plastic pools where dogs can take a dip!24

Historic Kenwood
Central St. Petersburg is just over 30 miles north of Holmes Beach. This area is home to the Kenwood Dog Park, a three-acre off-leash park with divided big and small dog sections. This park is long and narrow, so it's an ideal place for playing fetch with your dog or getting a long walk in for yourself as your dog plays. There are water stations for dogs and owners, as well as doggy bags and waste bins. Kenwood Dog Park has several areas with lots of shade, and there are benches situated throughout the park as well.12

Lakewood Estates
Just below the south St. Petersburg area known as Lakewood Estates, you'll find Lake Vista Dog Park. It's less than 30 miles from Holmes Beach, and this 1.5-acre off-leash park is sure to become a new favorite! There aren't separate big and small dog sections at this park, but there is a "time-out" area for pets. There's also running water, seating, and waste disposal supplies. The rest of Lake Vista Park is around 40 acres, and it includes playgrounds, a pool, trails, a skate park, and sports fields. Your dog can join you in most of these areas as long as they're on a leash.
