The park is located in the western part of Batavia, approximately 22 miles away from Sandwich. In addition to the open space for running, the park includes a small beach area where your fur-baby can dip their paws and cool off! This park is completely free and requires no permit for visiting. If you decide to play here, you will have to bring your own water, water bowls, and poop baggies for cleaning up. There is enough shade in the park and a pavilion for your comfort.

Around 17 miles away from Sandwich is another place that your doggo will surely enjoy called Stuart Sports Complex Dog Park. You can find this park in west Montgomery, and it offers 15 acres of fenced, open fields where pooches can frolic around freely. If you have a small doggo, this place has separate areas for large and small dogs so you don't need to worry. Playing at this park requires a park permit along with proof of rabies vaccination. Waste baggies are provided on-site, and a great addition is the little lake in the middle where doggies can swim! You and Fido will have a ball here!

In case you and your doggo prefer to hike a trail than go to a doggie park, in the proximity of Sandwich, you can find a furrifically dog-friendly trail by the name of Great Western Trail. This trail is around 17 miles long one-way, and it's considered easy in difficulty. The trail is used for biking, snowmobiling, and hiking. Leashed doggos are welcome on this trail as long as you clean up their messes. Don't forget to bring plenty of water and poop baggies. Since this trail is fairly easy and flat, you can bring children, too, and make a family day out of it!

Around 28 miles away from Sandwich, you have another choice where you can take your pooch to meet some new furiends. The place is called SpringBrook Prairie Dog Park and it's located in the forest preserve of the same name. You'll need to obtain a permit before you and Fido are allowed to play here -- be sure to check the park's official website for details. The large off-leash area will make your hound very happy, and the network of trails is also worth exploring. Along the trails, there are some creeks where your pooch can dip their paws, so don't forget to bring a towel with you!

A different pawssibility close to Sandwich is the Lincoln Dog Park located in central Aurora, 22 miles away. The park is properly fenced, but it doesn't include separate areas for small and large doggos; instead, all of them play together! Drinking bowls are provided, but you should bring water. There are plenty of benches as well for the comfort of the human visitors. If you decide to try out this park, be aware that you will need to sign up for a permit first. The park is very clean, so you have the respawnsibility to clean up after your pooch, and -- of course -- enjoy your time there!
