The Harbor
Go on a great hike along the Robert McClory Bike Trail with your dog alongside you. The trail is 25.4-miles long with a 295-foot elevation gain on a point to point route. Your dog is welcome to enjoy this trail with you as long as he remains on a leash. The hike runs along the Great Lakes and is perfect for any skill level of hiker. After a good hike, stop into Timeout Sports Pub and Grill for a bite to eat. With a kicked back atmosphere and delicious food, your dog will love spending time with you at this restaurant. Their menu includes burgers, sandwiches, and pizza that you can enjoy on their dog-friendly outdoor patio.36

Northeast Winthrop Harbor
Hike around the Spring Bluff Forest Preserve with your four-legged friend by your side. The preserve has one trail that is 1.7-miles long where you and Fido can walk along and discover a pond where you can stop to cool off. The trail is perfect for any hiker and their dog since it only has an elevation gain of 3-feet on a loop style route. The preserve is located along the lake, so while you are hiking, you can enjoy a beautiful scenic view the entire time. Your dog will love exploring this forested area, but make sure to keep him on a leash the entire time since there is wildlife running throughout the preserve.24

Zion Precinct Four Ten
Take your dog out to Beulah Park for a great time out with you. This huge park is filled with a playground, a huge open grass field, and a hiking trail. The Kellogg Creek runs through this park where Fido can splash. Enjoy the hiking trail through this heavily forested area. The trail has numerous hills you can climb to really give you both a good workout, but keep your dog on a leash since the trail is popular with bike riders. Shiloh Park is a huge 132-acre park that you and your pup can go spend the day at. Filled with three picnic shelters, four tennis courts, a basketball court, two baseball diamonds, a few small softball diamonds, and a playground, this park doesn't short you and your dog on amenities. The park also contains three separate ponds. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash while you are visiting, and don't forget to bring along your clean-up bags with you. The park sits right along the lake, giving you both a perfect view while you visit. Shiloh Park is in Zion, just outside of Winthrop Harbor.
