North Galien
If you're bored of walking along Galien's sidewalks, head to the northernmost part of the city, where you'll find the Village of Galien Park. This park is a completely bare bones park with not much to do or see. However, it is a stretch of green, grassy area where you take your pup for a fun time outside. Even though there are no toys or amenities, your pup will be able to enjoy the sun and rolling around in the grass. Just be sure to take your own leash, toys, water and doggie poop bags.36
Madron Lake Rd
Drive only fifteen minutes from Galien to Buchanan, where you will find Fullers Resort and Campground. This campground has plenty for you, your pooch, and the entire family to see and do! It is located right in front of a park with a large lake. This lake has plenty of activities for you and your pooch. You can do a few laps around the lake and get in some exercise, or rent a boat and take your pooch out on the water to read, relax, or fish. Just make sure you get your pooch a life vest if you go out on the water!24
Southeast Bridgman
If you are a Galien resident, you are lucky, because you are only fifteen minutes away from the city of Bridgman, where you will find Warren Dunes State Park. This park is over 300 acres in size. And the best part? It is a wonderful mixture of park and beach! You will find a large forest area with plenty of maple trees, many hiking trails, stretches of interesting terrain, and scenic spots. When you're done in the forest, you can head to the coast and sit by the water. Just make sure you take a leash with you, as well as some doggie waste bags.12
Town Center
The drive from Galien to Chikaming Township Park and Preserve will take you less than 20 minutes. This preserve is the perfect place to take an active pooch! This large preserve has prairies, mountains, a lake, and plenty of hiking trails. Trust us -- after a day in this park, your pooch will be tuckered out and sleeping in the car on the way home! Just make sure you take a leash, water, and plenty of snacks with you. Consider turning this into a day trip and spend some time reading in the forest while your pup explores and sniffs out some new creatures.East North Liberty
Although Potato Creek State Park is located in another state -- Indiana -- it is only a 45-minute drive from Galien. This state park is a gigantic stretch of land with plenty of things to do for you and your most loyal companion. It has archaeological sites, parks, hills, and even a lake for boating and fishing. Just make sure you wear your walking shoes and keep your pooch on a leash, because it is incredibly easy to get lost in this huge park.
