Northside
Just over 37 miles north of Jones is Northside, a residential area of Kalamazoo that sits near the Kalamazoo River. Close to the downtown area with several paw-friendly hotels and restaurants, the convenient location of Northside is something to appreciate. This area also has some restaurants that allow dogs to join you inside while you enjoy your meal! Both the Green Door Distilling Co. and the Boatyard Brewing Company welcome well-behaved, leashed dogs inside, so you can try out their famous drinks with your beloved companion. Northside is also only minutes from Spring Valley Park, a pawfect place to enjoy nature and walk the trails with your pooch.

Oshtemo
Oshtemo is a little under 37 miles from Jones and sits to the west of Northside and the downtown area. This is a rural area in the township of Kalamazoo with its own beloved dog park located conveniently near residential areas. Meadow Run Dog Park lets dogs play off their leashes and has two areas for small and large dogs to play separately. Your pooch can also challenge themselves with the park’s agility equipment! Oshtemo also houses the Oshtemo Township Park, where leashed dogs can join their humans on playgrounds, trails, open space areas, sporting fields, and picnic areas for a furtastic time outdoors.

S Kalamazoo St
The S. Kalamazoo St. area of Paw Paw, Michigan, is about 24 miles from Jones. Located right near Ismons Pond, the waterfront homes here are surprisingly affordable and put you only about 30 miles from the beaches of Lake Michigan. Check out the pupular ice cream shop, The Sugar Bear, which has a play area for the kids and several outdoor tables for furry friends. You can even order a doggie-sized cone! Warner Vineyards is also in the neighborhood and is dog-friendly. You can bring your leashed pup inside, or you can explore the grounds together. Fido will love relaxing in the grass by the water!

Eddy Street Commons
If you’re looking for some city fun with your pup, you can head about 38 miles from Jones into Indiana to visit South Bend. The Eddy Street Commons neighborhood is close to the central area of South Bend, but is also within minutes from parks, the St. Joseph River, and the Niles Avenue Bark Park in Harters Heights. The off-leash park offers toys and agility equipment to keep pups entertained. Eddy Street Commons is a commercial area and the pawfect spot to grab a dog-friendly meal at places like Brother’s Bar & Grill or Kilwin’s Chocolates, which both have outdoor tables that welcome furry paws.
Warren Dunes State Park
Warren Dunes State Park is about 52 miles from Jones, Michigan, but it could make a pawesome day trip for you and your favorite pup. Located near the shores of Lake Michigan, your water-loving dog will appreciate the chance to get their toes in the sand and splash around in the water. The best thing about this park is that several of the hiking trails don’t require your dog to be on their leash, so they'll have plenty of free range to explore and exercise. There are several dog-friendly hotels surrounding the park and a nearby TA rest area where you and your pup can grab something to eat on your way there or back home.
