Central West Unity
West Unity may be a small town, but they know how to make dog walkers feel right at home! West Unity Park is a public green space with plenty of walking paths and trees that are simply delightful to see during the fall months. You will see plenty of other pups walking around with their humans on a nice day, so feel free to head over to make some new friends (both the two and four-legged kind!). You will need some waste bags and a leash for your pup, but everything else you need to enjoy your walk is right there in front of you!36
Northwest Archbold
Ten minutes from West Unity is the Goll Woods State Nature Preserve. This preserve is more than 300 acres of simply stunning woodland with some of the largest trees recorded in the entire state! Some of these trees are more than 400 years old, so your dog may be sniffing for a long time! There is also a variety of flowers and wildlife that call this preserve home each year. The best time to visit the preserve with your pooch is during the spring, so that you can enjoy the scenery around you without worrying about those pesky summer mosquitoes.

Harrison Lake
Harrison Lake State Park is about 15 minutes from West Unity and well worth the short drive with your pup! The area was once covered by Lake Erie until the waters receded and formed the Harrison Lake Region and the Great Black Swamp. The area has been settled sparsely over the years. It was home once to both Native Americans and settlers who were new to the area and looking for a way to get back and forth from Lake Erie. The area was developed in 1941 for recreational use. Since the park was once a huge wetland, there is a variety of wildlife and plant life to be found everywhere you look.

West Holland Street/ Bankey Avenue
Archbold is a charming town just 20 minutes away from West Unity. In the middle of this town is Ruihley Park. This park is almost 30 acres of calming greenery right near homes and schools. It is the pawfect place to bring your pooch after a long and stressful day. You will both be able to recharge for the evening and the days ahead along the walking paths that wind through the park. The park is frequently used for many outdoor, family-friendly events, so keep your eye on the city website for updates on all of the pupperific happenings in town!
South Archbold
The southern part of the town of Archbold is home to Woodland Park. This park is a source of local pride as it took the town a while to develop the nearly 60-acre plot of land for recreational use. The park is used by athletes, families, and outdoor enthusiasts, so there is sure to be something for everyone during your visit. Dog walkers usually stick to the walking trails, but there are open picnic areas available as well.
