Willowick has a pawriffic park to visit with your pet, known as Manry Park. This large community park has a 0.5-mile track to take a walk along with your pup and plenty of room for strolling around the grounds together to get in a few extra steps. There are exercise stations for a little workout as you go, plus a playground, ball field and family fun zone with a horseshoe pit, hop scotch, corn hole and much more! Pack yourself a picnic and enjoy the park with your pooch under a shady tree in the wooded area or at one of the many tables. As this is a popular community park, you will need to keep your pup leashed.

North West Willowick

Roosevelt Park is an open sports field where you can bring your dog for a play with their favorite ball or Frisbee. There is a short fence, but if you let your pup off the lead, make sure they will obey commands, as the park is in a residential area with roads nearby. There are benches here to rest at and a small playground for the kids. From here, take a walk along the well-kept street to Lake Erie for a walk along the water’s edge. The sunsets are amazing here, so take your time and enjoy the spectacular views. Bring water for your pup as there isn’t any available at Roosevelt Park.

Wickliffe

Jindra Park in Wickliffe is a nice little community park to come for a walk along the paved paths, and is only 1.4 miles from Willowick. There is a playground here, as well as tennis courts, ball fields and basketball courts. Orlando Park is just south of Jindra Park, with another paved walking path at 0.3 miles around the grounds. Your pup will love the walk or chilling out on the grass while you and the family enjoy a picnic lunch. If you have kids with you, they will have a great time at the playground, tennis courts, basketball courts and ball field. Close by is Pete’s Pond Preserve, a 69-acre bushland space with a two-mile nature walk through the trees to a wetland overlook. Pete’s Pond Preserve has ample parking and a restroom at the trailhead, but you will need to bring water for you both. While these parks are pet-friendly, your pup will need to stay leashed during your outing.

Yachtsman s Cove

The Eastlake Dog Park in Eastlake is your pup's chance to run free of the lead and have a pawriffic time socializing with new friends. This fenced, double-gated dog park covers just under an acre and has separate play areas for little pups and bigger dogs. There is a ‘mutt mitt’ dispenser provided, so please ensure you clean up. You will need to bring drinking water for you both. Some toys are provided for the dogs, and benches are available for you to sit at under the shade while you supervise. After your visit to the dog park, get your furry BFF back on the lead and head over to the adjacent Woodland Park, where you can take a walk along the paths or set out a picnic with the family while the kids play. There is ample parking here and restrooms on site.

South Willoughby

Take a short drive over to the Gully Brook Park in Willoughby, just five miles east of Willowick. This 177-acre Lake Metropark green space is a beautiful spot to enjoy some time out in nature so close to town. The 1.4-mile gravel trail is perfect for a walk with your pup, and the creek and woodlands provide scenic views as you wander around. Lots of wildlife inhabit this spot, so keep your pet leashed to keep all the animals safe, including your pooch. Gully Brook Park has drinking water available, but bring a bowl for your dog. There are restrooms here and a picnic shelter for enjoying a packed lunch, as well as a playground to keep the kids amused.
