Emily walked our dog Banjo Friday night and Saturday morning while we were out of town. Bring some treats for puppy, and have fun!

Front Street

Make your way west, and you’ll find yourself on Front Street in Marietta. Here is where you’ll find McCleary’s Public House, another dog-friendly pub that can’t be missed if you’re in the area. With a number of outdoor tables to choose from, you can bring Fido for a bite and a pint. Just be sure to bring plenty of drinking water for your canine companion, as well as your trusty collapsible water bowl. Your dog will need to rehydrate after they get a peek at some of the delicious pub fare available. You gotta check it out!

Woodlawn

Let your hound hang his head out the window on the short drive to Woodlawn, a neighborhood in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Although it's a little out of the way from your original destination of Marietta, you’d be doggone crazy to miss out on Beau’s Dream Dog Park at Buchanan Park. With two separate areas for large and small dogs, both sides have a splash pad for a bit of fun on a warm and sunny day. There’s even a tunnel for the small dogs, and a tennis ball launcher for the bigger breeds.

Mundis Race Road

The city of York is another short drive away. If you’ve made the trip this far, you absolutely can’t miss out on John Rudy Park. Within the greater park is a dog park called Canine Meadows, which features three fenced-in areas for large and small dogs. With grassy hills and plenty of shade, you can let your pup have a good bit of off-leash fun while you catch up on the paper (or that latest app you’ve gotten into). Bring drinking water and plenty of doggy waste bags, and you’re sure to have a ball here.

Centerville Rd

Last but not least by any means, the trip to west Lancaster is well worth making. Here, you’ll find That Fish Place, a pet-friendly shop that has one of the largest aquatic selections on the East Coast -- if not the largest altogether. They carry a variety of dog supplies, as well as other pet supplies, so let your precious pup pick out some goodies. After the good time you’ve had on your doggy day trip, they definitely deserve a treat for being a nice and well-behaved pup! Besides, you won't be able to resist the big, sad eyes they'll pull as they sniff out all the treats on offer here!
