Emily walked our dog Banjo Friday night and Saturday morning while we were out of town. She did a phenomenal job taking care of him and keeping us updated, and even cleaned up an accident that he had which we did not anticipate! Sweetbriar
Sweetbriar is a residential Manheim neighborhood with a fun park your dog is sure to love: Sweetbriar Creek Park. This 30-acre park has baseball and softball fields, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground, and a walking trail where you can take your pup for on-leash strolls. This trail goes along Sweetbriar Creek, providing amazing views during your walk. If you’re hungry after your walk, Sweetbriar Creek Park has a scenic picnic pavilion where you can enjoy an al fresco snack with your dog. Be sure to bring doggy bags and water, and have a furrific day out at this community park!

Woodlawn
This Lancaster neighborhood is home to Beau’s Dream Dog Park, a pawsitively amazing off-leash area. This park is 10 miles from Manheim, and it features separate areas for large and small dogs. The large dog area has a fun tennis ball tree that launches tennis balls to your dog, and the small dog side has a little tunnel for pups to run through. The park also has a splash pad to keep your dog cool on hot days, and it provides drinking water for your dog as well. If all this playing makes you and your dog hungry, head to Fresh Farms Café. Sit at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy healthy sandwiches, salads, and flatbreads.

Bullfrog Valley Road
If you’re searching for another great park to take your pup for an on-leash walk, head to Shank Park. Located 21 miles from Manheim in nearby Hummelstown, this 90-acre park has a fun nature trail to hike on with your dog. This trail takes you on a loop around the park. Along the way, it passes through a natural wooded area that’s filled with trees that are native to the area. A portion of the trail also goes along a beautiful stream. Bring doggy bags and water for your dog with you, and enjoy spending the day strolling around this park.

Fruitville
Fruitville is home to another off-leash area your dog is sure to love: Overlook Dog Park. This dog park is eight miles from Manheim, and it has separate large and small dog areas, doggy bags, and drinking water for pups. To use the park, you’ll have to register online and pay a small membership fee. After that, you’ll be able to use the dog park anytime you’d like! If you want to get a bite to eat after the park, head to Tom + Chee. This casual eatery serves grilled cheese sandwiches with unique toppings and homemade soups. Dogs are welcome to join you at their five outdoor tables.
Hilltop Acres
When you’re in this Lancaster neighborhood, you won’t want to miss Lancaster County Central Park. Located 18 miles from Manheim, this park has eight trails you can explore with your dog. If you’d like to go on a short but beautiful hike, try the 0.3-mile Warbler Trail. This trail takes you along the side of a hill, and it provides great views of the Conestoga River. Or, if you want to go on a slightly longer hike, check out the 1.3-mile Mill Creek Trail. As you go along this trail, you’ll pass through a woodland area, and you’ll walk along scenic Mill Creek. You and your dog will both have fun hiking here!
