Wag! donates a portion of its walk proceeds to buy meals for shelter dogs. As of today, your walks have helped fund 10 million meals! That’s a lot of kibble — and a lot of help for dogs and shelters across the country.
The food donations allow rescue and shelter groups that receive them to spend their limited funds on other things, such as spay/neuter and other veterinary care, facility expansions, and adoption events.
We can’t do this alone. There are the pet parents who schedule walks with Wag!, the pet care providers who do the walks, and the walked pups, of course! There’s also GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Bank — our nonprofit partner. The folks there vet thousands of shelters across the country to ensure they’re deserving of the donations and putting the food to good use.
We regularly share stories about the dogs that benefit from the donations, including Dennis, Banjo, and Taegan. These pups not only eat the donated food, they also benefit from the care provided at the shelters by employees and volunteers. We’re proud of our partnership with GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Bank. And we look forward to continuing this program to provide meals to shelter dogs. Doing so will enable shelters to deliver the necessary treatment and care, so that benefiting pups can be placed with families in fur-ever homes.
