Soulard is a busy St. Louis neighborhood located near several major highways. At the northern border of the neighborhood, you’ll find a pawesome place to take your pup for some off-leash fun. Frenchtown Dog Park is set right off Highway 44, making it a perfect “pitt” stop if you’re just passing through. This fenced park is a small one at just .75 acres, but it offers separate areas for small and large breeds to play. You’ll need to email the officials at Frenchtown Dog Park to obtain a membership to play here. Water and waste bags are both provided, so no need to bring anything but plenty of energy!

Southern Kirkwood

The southern region of Kirkwood is home to Grant’s Trail, which is a former rail line that is now part of Rails-To-Trails. This trail is 7.9 miles long and makes the pawfect place to enjoy an easy hike. The walkway is asphalt and there are a lot of restrooms and places to get water along the trail. There is also plenty of shade from the trees for those hot summer days. Don’t forget to bring along some waste bags so you can leave the trail nice and tidy for other hikers and their furry friends.
