Norristown is a small borough city that sits on the north side of the Schuylkill River, just 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The area was first bought and incorporated as a town more than 300 years ago, and has since brought in different industrial companies to the area. The city also brings in a lot of dog lovers to the area, thanks to the number of dog-friendly public parks, outdoor activities, and 6 veterinarians.

The Norristown Farm Park is a state park that sits on the northwest edge of the city, taking up over 690 acres of open fields and thick forests. The state park is dog-friendly, and brings in plenty of people and pups to the area thanks to activities like hiking, jogging, biking, picnicking, wildlife viewing, fishing, and fetch! Dogs must remain on a leash, but can enjoy the 7+ mile trail system or relax in the shaded sitting areas, with access to water fountains, clean-up stations, and trash bins.

The Bartasch Park is another popular place to take your pup, thanks to the beautiful scenery it offers in the city's center. With a large area of forests and shaded trails, you and Fido can enjoy a peaceful walk. There's also plenty of open space to run around a play, a creek for fishing, and picnic shelters. Don't forget to leash Fido up before heading out!

Norristown is the perfect place to live with Fido, thanks to all the hiking, watersport, and walking activities available.
