Situated 20 miles northeast of Minneapolis, Hugo is a quaint town with beautiful landscapes, open space parks, and miles of trails. Fido and his parents can enjoy visiting several small neighborhood parks, or planning an adventure at one of the larger state parks in the area. Several lakes offer the opportunity to stroll pathways around the water and admire the wildlife.

Oneka Lake Park is located on Goodview Ave and sits between Egg Lake and Rice Lake. You and Fido can spend time exploring the 10 acres of open grassy space, or plan a picnic with the family. The kids will love the playground, and you and your pup can play a game of fetch in the open soccer field.

If you and your furry family members are looking for a fun weekend activity, head over to Applecrest Orchards on 24th Avenue N. This orchard covers 10-acres, and you can walk around the area and choose from a variety of apples while your leashed pooch sniffs all the delicious smells. Kids can feed the chickens or spend some time creating apple-related crafts. While pups are welcome to tag along with the family, you need to keep him on a leash and clean up with your own doggie bags.

Keeping your pup happy and healthy isn’t a problem with three veterinarian clinics in the Hugo area. These offices provide routine and emergency care and will love your pooch like one of their own. Spending time in Hugo gives pups and their parents a chance to explore nature and socialize with friends and their canine companions.
