West State Street
West State Street is a well-known street that will take you right to one of the popular parks in Black Mountain. Riverwalk Park has its own walking trails, picnic areas, and a dog park for its four-legged visitors to have some off-leash fun! The park covers about two acres, so there is plenty of room for your whole family. The Riverwalk Trail is one of the most pupular places to walk. It is a half-mile of scenic views and wildlife that your pup will have a blast sniffing out! Just make sure your dog is on a comfortable and sturdy leash.

Tomahawk Avenue/Laurel Circle Drive
At the intersection of Tomahawk Avenue and Laurel Circle Drive is the entrance to Lake Tomahawk Park. This park is the gem of the town and gives visitors a safe and beautiful place to get some exercise across 16 acres of land! You can hike, picnic, and even fish in this park! The park welcomes families with dogs to visit and enjoy the walking trails and the view of the local lake. Dogs will need a leash, and you will need to be sure to pick up after your pooch, as the park is visited by many humans and pups throughout the year.24

Montreat
Robert Lake Park is a pupular destination in the heart of the town of Montreat, just a few minutes away from Black Mountain. This park has lots of scenic rocky streams that run through the whole park. Visitors with children appreciate the unique layout of the playground equipment, which gives children a more interesting play scene! There are small waterfalls and other places to stop and take it all in, and your dog is welcome to join your family as long as he has a leash on and minds his best manners. There is also a lake nearby where paddle boating and canoeing are common activities.12
