Clarksville

Just south of the heart of Austin, about 13 miles from Bluff Springs, you and Fido can have a ball at the West Austin Dog Park! This popular dog park is a hit with both humans and their canine companions, and most of the locals who visit the park love socializing with other dog parents. The off-leash park is large, giving Fido the chance to burn off any pent-up energy while playing with his new friends. Make sure to grab some waste bags and water from home, as the park doesn’t provide these items for you. Seating is available for owners.

McKinney Falls State Park

Just outside of Bluff Springs, in Austin, you and Fido can explore McKinney Falls State Park. McKinney Falls State Park has nearly ten miles of trails winding through it, so we hope you and Fido are ready to get some exercise! The trails are marked by level of intensity, so make sure to pick one that you and your dog can both handle. Bring along water and a good pair of walking shoes, along with a leash and waste disposal bags – all are required for a safe and fun time! What are you waiting for? Take a hike!

Bouldin

About 30 minutes outside of Bluff Springs, you and Fido can visit Austin’s Bouldin neighborhood, where the two of you can have a howling good time at Auditorium Shores Off-Leash Park. This dog park is located within a larger public park. Water and waste bags aren’t provided for you, so make sure to bring your own. Be aware that you should only bring your dog to this dog park if he responds well to verbal commands; this dog park is not fenced in, and nearby roads can become quite busy during the day. Keep an eye on your pup!

Bastrop State Park

Do you and your pup love hiking and camping? If so, visit Bastrop State Park! It's located about 30 minutes from Bluff Springs, so you won’t have to travel too far. Over seven miles of trail run through the area, and if your dog stays on a leash, he can join you on any of them. Feeling really adventurous? Pack a tent and an overnight bag and go camping. You’ll want to have water on hand for both you and your dog, and it might not be a bad idea to pick up a trail map before you start your adventure.
