Lockhart
Does your dog just lose it when he smells good, authentic Texan barbecue? Well, Lockhart is the capital of Texas barbecue, and there are only four BBQ restaurants in the city. It just so happens that one in the Lockhart neighborhood is pet-friendly! At Black's Barbecue, you and your pooch can come for a plate of barbecue dishes that have been prepared by the same family since 1932! There are 9 different selections of meats to choose from, like pork spare ribs and barbecue chicken. Don't forget to throw Fido a bone after you're done eating! (But remember, fragile chicken bones can be very dangerous for your pup!)

Navarro
Does your dog have a taste for Mexican food? If your dog is a little perro hambriento, then he'll love living in the Navarro neighborhood, where he can get his fill of authentic Mexican food. No Tex-Mex at Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant! You and Fido can try Weslee Super Burritos, golden tacos, or a 10-oz ribeye steak. There's also chilli poblano rellenos and flautas! This just scratches the surface of amazing pet-friendly eats you can order at Guadalajara. After gorging on burritos, you can drive down to the Lockhart City Park for a nice stroll through the grass that'll help digest all the deliciousness.

Landing
Does your dog love community events, sunshine, and a chance to hike through it all? In the Landing neighborhood, which is smack dab in the middle of Lockhart, you can visit the Lockhart Community Park for all three! The park totals over 262 acres of hiking area with a 3-mile trail that winds around the perimeter of the park. Following the trail with Fido gives you breathtaking views of the Plum Fork Plum Creek River. The cost of admission is $3, but that's a small price to pay considering the views and the tail-wagging!

Old Lytton
Is your dog a die-hard barbecue fan that loves to lick the pit boss's fingers? Then the neighborhood of Old Lytton has a dog-friendly place for him! This Texas neighborhood has a spot called the Kreuz Market, which has been smoking and barbecuing since 1900! The BBQ joint sells their goods in a German-meat market style and smokes their meat in 100-year-old brick pits. Your pup will be begging you for a bite of the BBQ beef, smoked sausage, BBQ pork, and smoked turkey. Don't forget to bring a bib! (And some water for your hungry hound.)

Meadows at Clearfork
Is your dog a contemplative sniffer who "pawnders" the questions of life as he smells his way around the neighborhood? If your dog has a philosophical side, then he'll love living in the Meadows at Clearfork neighborhood. This neighborhood gives you quick access to the Lockhart Community Garden. This outdoor space has tubs for members to grow anything from green frilly lettuce to red bell peppers. There are also some gorgeous flowers growing the garden, too. Species of flora like Henry Duelberg, Lord Baltimore Hibiscus, and Turk's Cap will tantalize Fido's nose. This is a lovely place to visit with your perennial pup!
